The map
Riehen is one of only three municipalities in the canton of Basel-City. It lies northeast of Basel, and its map shows an unusual position. The German border wraps around it on most sides, so the municipal outline looks like a peninsula of Swiss territory reaching into Baden-Württemberg. The river Wiese runs along its western side on its way to the Rhine.
The old village core sits at the centre, with a church and historic buildings, and a tram line connects it directly to Basel. Around it, residential streets climb gently toward vineyards and wooded slopes on the higher ground, including the Tüllinger hill toward the west. Parks and green spaces are frequent, and the town feels suburban and rural at the same time.
Riehen is internationally known for the Fondation Beyeler, the art museum designed by Renzo Piano and set in a park beside the main road. A Riehen map poster frames all of this in one drawing: the river, the village core, the slopes and the border, which gives the municipality its distinctive shape.

The river flows along the western edge toward the Rhine. It is accompanied by green corridors, footpaths and open land on both banks.
The museum and its landscaped grounds stand beside the main road through town. They are a quiet open space in the middle of the map.

Why Riehen
Riehen combines village life, art and nature in a very small area, and its map shows how those pieces fit together. It is a thoughtful print for residents, museum visitors, or anyone with ties to Basel.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a home, a street or a date. Choose Classic, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files in six print sizes cost $9, or you can order a matte printed poster with an optional frame.
