The map

About this Sakassou map poster

Sakassou lies in central Ivory Coast, in the Vallée du Bandama District, southwest of Bouaké. The surrounding landscape is a mix of savanna and wooded patches, and from above the town appears as a compact grouping of streets and compounds, with roads running out towards villages and fields.

The map pattern is simple and direct: a few main roads meet near the centre, and smaller tracks branch between houses and courtyards. Beyond the town, open land takes over, with scattered settlements and cultivated plots forming a lighter texture on the paper.

Sakassou is known as the traditional seat of the Baoulé kingdom, and its royal court remains an important cultural centre. A Sakassou map poster gives that heritage a contemporary form, a clean line drawing of a place whose significance goes far beyond its size.

Crossroads centre

Several roads converge at the heart of the town, forming a natural focal point in the middle of the map composition.

02

Compound layout

Residential areas are arranged around courtyards and lanes, giving the town an irregular, finely textured pattern rather than a rigid grid.

03

Savanna surroundings

Outside the town the lines thin out into open savanna and farmland, with tracks leading to the villages of the Baoulé countryside.
