The map
Sariwŏn-si is the capital of North Hwanghae Province in North Korea, located on a broad plain roughly sixty kilometres south of Pyongyang. From above, it appears as a compact, planned city with wide main streets, large residential blocks and open squares, surrounded by farmland and low hills that rise toward the edges of the plain.
The city lies on the principal north–south transport corridor of the country, with the railway and highway toward Kaesong passing through it. It is known as a regional centre for agriculture and light industry. A folk street with traditional-style buildings, laid out at the foot of a hill in the city, is among its best-known sights for visitors.
A Sariwŏn-si map poster presents a clear, orderly street plan, shaped by post-war planning and by the rail line that runs through it. In black and white, the broad avenues and generous blocks give the composition a calm, architectural character, while the fields and hills at the edges soften the outline.

Broad main streets and large residential blocks define the centre, a planned layout with generous spacing that reads clearly at any print size.
Farmland spreads across the surrounding plain, while low hills rise at the edges, framing the city with open, gently varied terrain.
