The map

About this Talatona map poster

Talatona is part of the newer growth of Luanda, laid out south of the old city centre and the bay. Its map differs from the older districts to the north. Instead of tightly packed streets that follow the coastline, it has broad roads, large blocks and generous plots, a pattern shaped by planning rather than slow accumulation over time.

From above, the district is a mix of dense, finished areas and blocks that are still filling in. Wide avenues connect it to the rest of the capital, while residential compounds, commercial centres and public buildings each take up substantial parcels. Open ground and new development sit side by side, so the map shows a city still growing.

Talatona has become one of the main business and residential areas in the Luanda region, where offices, hotels and shopping centres gather close together. A Talatona map poster captures that phase clearly: a modern, expanding part of Angola's capital, drawn at a moment when its street pattern is still taking shape.

01

Planned avenues

Wide, deliberate roads divide Talatona into large parcels, a clear contrast to the older, denser street patterns of central Luanda further north.

02

Large plots

Compounds, commercial centres and institutional sites occupy big, simple blocks, giving the district a spacious, geometric look on the map.

03

Growing edges

At the margins, finished streets meet open land and new plots, so the poster records the district at a particular moment of its growth.
