About this Tosu map poster
Tosu lies in the east of Saga Prefecture, close to the border with Fukuoka, on the northern edge of the Tsukushi Plain. It is one of the most important transport junctions in Kyushu: railway lines toward Kagoshima and Nagasaki diverge here, and the Kyushu, Nagasaki and Oita expressways meet at the Tosu Junction. On the map, these corridors are the strongest lines, running across the city.
Because of this position, Tosu has become a major distribution hub, with logistics warehouses and industrial parks spread along the highways. The city centre surrounds Tosu Station, and Shin-Tosu Station serves the Kyushu Shinkansen. Wooded hills rise to the north, while flat farmland extends south toward the Chikugo River. The city is also home to the football club Sagan Tosu.

Lines toward Kagoshima and Nagasaki split near Tosu Station, and the Kyushu Shinkansen passes through Shin-Tosu, giving the map several long, converging lines.
