The map

About this Toyoyama map poster

Toyoyama is a small town in Aichi Prefecture, just north of Nagoya on the flat ground of the Nobi Plain. From above it is a tight mesh of residential streets, small fields and low-rise neighbourhoods, the kind of dense suburban pattern found across the Nagoya area, with no hills or coastline to interrupt it.

What sets it apart on a map is Nagoya Airfield, also known as Komaki Airport, which it shares with the neighbouring cities of Komaki and Kasugai. The runway and its aprons form a long, pale rectangle cutting across the landscape, and the town's streets wrap around its edges. Aircraft manufacturing facilities sit alongside the field.

A Toyoyama map poster turns that contrast into its main feature. The fine texture of houses and lanes fills most of the sheet, and then the airfield appears as a clean, empty shape with hard straight edges. It is a strong, almost graphic image, well suited to the Blueprint style.

01

The airfield runway

Nagoya Airfield lays a long straight runway across the map, a bold geometric form that stands out against the intricate street pattern on every side of it.

02

Dense suburban mesh

Small residential streets crowd together across the flat plain, creating an even, finely detailed texture that looks especially crisp on larger prints.

03

Edge of Nagoya

Toyoyama's southern side runs straight into Nagoya's northern districts, so the map shows how the town sits within one continuous urban area on the Nobi Plain.

Why Toyoyama

A map that means something

Toyoyama is a good choice for anyone who lives nearby, works in aviation or simply likes the look of a runway on a map. The mix of dense homes and wide open airfield makes an unusual poster that still feels calm.

The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be changed, so it works as a gift or a personal marker. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
