About this Vihti map poster
Seen from above, Vihti is mostly forest and water. Irregular lakes fill the hollows, the largest of them Hiidenvesi, which spreads its long, branching arms across the north of the municipality. Between them run narrow roads, scattered farmsteads and the clearings of old cultivated land, so the map reads as a loose mesh of lines rather than a dense grid.
The old church village sits near the centre of this pattern, a small knot of streets around its crossroads. To the south, Nummela, the largest settlement, has grown along a sandy ridge left by the last ice age, and its tighter residential streets show up as the densest patch of ink. The Turku motorway cuts through nearby as a clean diagonal line.
