Te mapa
Al Mubarraz forms the northern half of the Al-Ahsa urban area in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, with Hofuf directly to the south. From above, the two cities merge into one continuous spread of wide avenues and large, regular residential blocks. It is the typical layout of a modern Gulf city planned around the car, with ring roads and highways connecting the districts.
What sets the city apart is the Al-Ahsa Oasis, often described as the largest palm oasis in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018. Well over two million date palms, fed by springs and irrigation channels, press up against the urban edge, so dense palm groves, straight streets and open desert all appear in a single frame.
An Al Mubarraz map poster works on the strength of those contrasts. The fine, irregular tracks and channels of the oasis sit on one side, the ordered grid of the city on another, and beyond them lies the desert, where the map simply falls silent. In black and white the three textures read clearly.
The oasis meets the city along an irregular boundary. Inside it, small roads and irrigation channels form a delicate network quite unlike the city grid.
Mubarraz and Hofuf have grown together into one metropolitan area. On a wider poster the join between them is barely visible, just a continuous field of blocks.
Broad, straight roads divide the newer districts into large rectangles, and the ring and arterial roads show up as the strongest lines on the map.

Koteā ko Al Mubarraz
Al Mubarraz is home to generations of Ahsawi families and to many people who have lived and worked in the Eastern Province over the years. A map of the city and its oasis is a calm, personal reminder of that place, suited to a majlis, an office or a study.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be edited, and the design comes in five styles, including a warm Sand option that suits the colours of desert and palms. The $9 download includes six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files.
