Te mapa
From above, Aleksandrov reads as a town built along a small river, the Seraya, whose bends shape the older streets near the centre. Low-rise blocks and wooden-house neighbourhoods spread out from there in loose grids, and the line of the Moscow–Yaroslavl railway runs through it, dividing the town into two uneven halves.
The walled enclosure on the edge of the centre is the Aleksandrov Kremlin, once the Aleksandrovskaya Sloboda. In the sixteenth century Ivan the Terrible made it his residence, and for close to two decades it served as the country's working capital. On a map it appears as a tight cluster of outlines inside a regular boundary, clearly older than the streets around it.
An Aleksandrov map poster shows the town at its real scale: a regional centre in Vladimir Oblast, part of the Golden Ring route, with fields and forest pressing in at the edges. The river, the rail corridor and the old fortified core give the print a clear structure without any need for extra detail.
The walled grounds of the former Aleksandrovskaya Sloboda form a compact, geometric shape near the river, a sixteenth-century royal residence that still anchors the plan of the town.
The small river loops through the older part of Aleksandrov, and the streets beside it follow its curves rather than a grid, which gives the centre a softer outline.
The line toward Moscow and Yaroslavl crosses the town in a long, straight stroke, with sidings and a station yard that stand out clearly against the smaller residential blocks.

Koteā ko Aleksandrov
Aleksandrov tends to matter to people for personal reasons: a family home, summers spent there, a stop on a Golden Ring trip. The map keeps the familiar pieces together, the river, the walls, the tracks, in a quiet format that suits a hallway or a study.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, a year or a family name, for example, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download it as a $9 HD file or order it printed on matte paper.
