Te mapa
Balashikha lies directly east of Moscow, just beyond the MKAD ring road, and is one of the largest cities in Moscow Oblast. From above it is a cluster of residential districts separated by forests, highways and the valley of the Pekhorka River, which winds through the city past a chain of small ponds.
The city grew around textile mills and old country estates, among them Gorenki, whose park and ponds survive among newer buildings. In the twenty-first century it has expanded rapidly with large housing developments, and in 2015 it absorbed the neighbouring town of Zheleznodorozhny. The Gorkovskoye and Nosovikhinskoye highways cross it on their way east.
A Balashikha map poster shows the typical rhythm of the Moscow region: dense microdistricts of long apartment blocks, broad roads between them, and generous tracts of woodland that remain unbuilt. The forests of Losiny Ostrov National Park reach the city's northwestern side, leaving large, calm areas of blank space around the edges of the sheet.
The small river and its ponds wind through the city, forming a green, irregular corridor that separates several of its residential districts.
This major road runs east from Moscow straight through Balashikha, a bold line along which much of the city's older development first took shape.
Woodland, including parts of Losiny Ostrov National Park, surrounds large sections of the city, giving the map broad unbuilt zones beside dense housing.

Koteā ko Balashikha
Balashikha is home to many families who commute into Moscow yet feel the city is their own, with its parks, ponds and neighbourhoods. A map of it marks that identity, distinct from the capital next door.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or an address. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a $9 download in six print sizes or as a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
