Te mapa
Cherëmushki lies in the southwest of Moscow, along the broad avenues that lead out of the city centre towards the outer ring. On a map it is instantly recognisable as a product of postwar planning: large superblocks, each filled with freestanding apartment buildings set around shared courtyards, schools and green space.
Instead of continuous street frontages, the map shows rows of separate rectangles at varying angles, with footpaths and small driveways winding between them. Long, straight avenues and a metro line frame the district, while small parks and wooded patches break up the pattern and add some softer shapes to the composition.
Cherëmushki gave its name to one of the first experimental housing projects of the Khrushchev era, which became a model for mass housing across the Soviet Union. A Cherëmushki map poster turns that planning history into a precise graphic of blocks, courtyards and avenues.
Large superblocks filled with freestanding apartment buildings create a distinctive pattern of separate rectangles, very different from the dense street grid of central Moscow.
Broad, straight avenues frame the district and connect it with the city centre, drawn as strong lines against the finer internal paths.
Between the buildings lie shared courtyards and small parks, which appear as soft open spaces that balance the geometric housing blocks.

Koteā ko Cherëmushki
For people who grew up in Cherëmushki's courtyards, or who simply appreciate modernist planning, the district's map is both familiar and graphically striking. It suits a living room, a studio or an architect's office equally well.
