Te mapa
Anamizu lies on the inner coast of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, facing a calm, almost enclosed bay. The town centre sits at the head of the bay, where river valleys come down to the water. From above the coastline is intricate, full of coves, points and small islands. On this map, the water does most of the drawing.
Anamizu Bay is known for oyster farming, and its sheltered waters have long supported fishing and aquaculture. Inland, narrow valleys with rice fields and scattered hamlets reach into forested hills, linked by roads that follow the streams. The settled areas stay small, tucked into the flat land along the coast and the valley floors.
The town was among the communities hit by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, and its streets and harbour have been part of the region's long recovery. An Anamizu map poster records the lasting shape of the place: the bay, the valleys and the fine line where town meets sea.
The sheltered bay dominates the map, and its irregular shoreline of coves and headlands forms the most striking outline in the composition.
Offshore, a few small islands sit in the calm water of the bay, adding scattered, rounded shapes that balance the dense lines of the coastline.
Narrow valleys run inland from the town, each carrying a stream, a road and a line of fields into the wooded hills of Noto.
