Te mapa
Attingal is a town in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, on the main coastal highway north of the state capital. It has a long historical profile: it was the seat of the Attingal queens, whose domain later became part of Travancore, and the Attingal revolt of 1721 is often cited as one of the earliest uprisings against the English East India Company.
On a map, the town's centre forms along the highway, with the busiest streets strung along it. The Vamanapuram river curves past the town, and its winding course breaks the pattern of the roads. Around the centre, lanes branch into green, hilly countryside, where homes are spread among trees rather than packed into blocks.
An Attingal map poster captures that combination: a firm spine of highway, a compact commercial core, the meandering river and the network of smaller roads spreading outwards. The Arabian Sea coast, with the old fort at Anchuthengu, lies a short distance to the west.
The national highway runs through the centre as a clear, continuous line, with the town's commercial streets arranged tightly along it.
The Vamanapuram river winds past the town, adding a soft, curving line that contrasts with the straighter roads.
Beyond the centre, lanes branch into hilly countryside with homes scattered among trees, giving the edges of the map an open texture.

Koteā ko Attingal
Attingal's history as a royal seat and its place in Kerala's past give it meaning well beyond its size. A map poster is a way to celebrate that heritage or to keep the streets of a hometown close.
