Te mapa
Bailundo is a modest town in the Angolan interior, and its map is spare. A few main roads meet near the centre, where the street network is densest, and from there the blocks loosen into scattered plots and tracks. The overall shape is organic and follows the land more than any formal plan.
On the map, the edges of Bailundo matter as much as the centre. Paths lead out to farmland and small settlements, and the rural land around the town takes up much of the frame, crossed by a few lines of water and footpaths. The result is a composition with a lot of open space and only a few strong lines.
A Bailundo map poster suits anyone with a personal connection to this part of Angola. It is not about famous landmarks. It records the real pattern of a place: where the roads cross, how the houses gather, and where the town gives way to the countryside that surrounds it.
The main routes into town meet near the centre and form the backbone of the map. Most of the denser streets and buildings cluster around this junction.
Away from the core the pattern opens into irregular plots and informal lanes. On the poster this gives a soft, scattered texture instead of a rigid grid.
Fields, tracks and small streams fill the land around Bailundo. They take up much of the composition and emphasise how compact the settled area is.

For families from Bailundo, or anyone who has lived or worked there, a map of the town is a rare object. It shows home as it actually is from above, and it makes a thoughtful gift for relatives who live far away.
