Coast and hills
A narrow coastal strip gives way almost immediately to steep hills, so the map shows a clear shift from straight coastal roads to winding upland lanes.

Te mapa
Banjar lies in the Buleleng Regency on the northern coast of Bali, a quieter side of the island than the resort areas of the south. From above, the settlement stretches between the coastal road and the hills that rise sharply behind it. Streets and lanes run up towards the slopes, while rice terraces and plantations fill the gaps between villages.
The area is known for two landmarks inland: the Brahmavihara-Arama, Bali's largest Buddhist monastery, set on a hillside, and the Banjar hot springs, where natural pools sit among tropical gardens. On the map, these appear as small clearings among winding roads. Toward the sea, the coastal plain is narrow, with the shoreline running as a long, gentle line.
A Banjar map poster captures this transition from coast to hills. The lower part of the frame shows a flat strip of land and the sea, while the upper part is filled with winding roads that follow the slopes. It is a calm composition, well suited to the Paper and Sand styles.

The Brahmavihara-Arama Buddhist monastery sits on the slopes above the coast, reached by roads that curve up through the hillside villages.
The Banjar hot springs lie inland among gardens and small lanes, a well-known stop that appears as a quiet clearing on the map.
