Te mapa
Battle Creek grew up where the Battle Creek river flows into the Kalamazoo River in southern Michigan. From above, the two waterways meet near the downtown, drawing curving lines through an otherwise regular grid of streets. Rail lines cut across the city on the diagonal, and to the south and west, lakes and parks break up the residential districts with pools of open space.
The city is known worldwide as Cereal City. It was here that the Kellogg brothers developed flaked breakfast cereals, and C. W. Post founded his company in the city at the turn of the twentieth century. Both brands still have a major presence. Battle Creek was also the home of Sojourner Truth, the abolitionist and women's rights advocate, who is buried in the city's Oak Hill Cemetery.
A Battle Creek map poster brings together the city's rivers, its industrial rail corridors and its neighbourhood grids. The confluence near downtown gives the composition a natural focus, while lakes and parks add calm spaces around it. It is a map for people who know the city's story, and for those who simply call it home.

Railway lines cross the city diagonally, a reminder of its industrial growth and of the cereal plants that shipped their products across the country.
Lakes, parks and green spaces fill parts of the southern and western districts, giving the map pockets of open space.
