Te mapa
Becerril sits in the Cesar Department in northern Colombia, where the flat lowlands of the Cesar valley start climbing toward the Serranía del Perijá. From above, the town forms a tight block of streets surrounded by wide, open land. To the east the relief shows as creased ridges running parallel to the border with Venezuela, and the town looks small against them.
The streets mostly follow a regular colonial-style grid, with a central plaza and blocks that thin out into ranch plots and farm tracks at the edges. Streams come down from the mountains and cut across the surrounding fields. In black and white, their curves stand out clearly against the straight lines of the town, so the contrast between planned streets and natural drainage is easy to read.
The municipality's economy is tied to cattle, farming and the coal-mining belt of central Cesar, which reaches into this part of the department. A Becerril map poster doesn't show any of that directly. What it shows is how the town sits: a small, orderly settlement at the point where a hot valley floor meets a long mountain range.
East of town the land rises into the Serranía del Perijá. On the map the foothills show as a band of tighter, twisting lines, very different from the open ground of the valley.
The town centre is a set of square blocks around a main plaza. It's the densest part of the print and reads clearly even at the smallest size.
Around the town, long tracks and field edges cross the flat Cesar lowlands. They make a sparse, quiet pattern that frames the built-up area.

Koteā ko Becerril
People hang Becerril because they grew up there, have family in Cesar, or once worked in the region. It gives them a simple, exact picture of the place, which can mean more than any photograph of the plaza.
You can add your own title, a family name or a meaningful date, and change the coordinates line. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Choose whichever suits the room, from a warm living space to a plain white hallway.
