Te mapa
Bolgatanga is the capital of the Upper East Region, in the far north of Ghana, close to the border with Burkina Faso. The land is open savannah, flat to gently rolling, with scattered rocky outcrops. From above, the town is a hub. Main roads come in from Tamale to the south, Navrongo to the west and Bawku to the east, and they meet in the centre.
The central streets around the market are fairly regular, but the grid loosens toward the edges. There, compounds and farmland alternate with residential lanes. Seasonal streams and small reservoirs appear as thin lines and patches across the landscape. At poster scale, the town looks like a clear knot in an open, lightly marked setting.
Bolgatanga is known far beyond Ghana for its woven straw baskets, often called Bolga baskets, and for its crafts market. A Bolgatanga map poster shows a crossroads town with a simple, legible shape set in the wide spaces of the northern savannah.
Main routes from Tamale, Navrongo and Bawku meet in the centre. On the poster they form a strong star shape that anchors the entire composition.
The busy streets around the central market are the densest part of town. They form a compact core that is easy to pick out from the looser edges.
Open land, compounds and seasonal waterways spread out beyond the town. The sparse lines around the edge give the print a calm, spacious frame.

Koteā ko Bolgatanga
Bolgatanga has meaning for people from the Upper East, basket weavers and buyers of northern Ghanaian crafts, and anyone who has travelled the road north from Tamale. A simple map of its streets is a dignified way to keep that connection on the wall.
Add a custom title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or the year of a visit. Choose from five styles. Sand matches the savannah palette. The HD files cost $9 in six print sizes, and printed posters are available through partners.
