Te mapa
Boon Lay lies in the west of Singapore, named after Chew Boon Lay, a businessman who owned land here around the turn of the twentieth century. Today the name is closely tied to the neighbourhood around Boon Lay MRT station and the surrounding Jurong West housing estates. From above, the district shows the careful planning typical of the island: rows of residential blocks, loop roads and generous green buffers.
The East-West Line runs overhead on a long viaduct, and Boon Lay served as its western terminus for many years before the extension to Joo Koon. On the map, the rail line and the nearby Pan-Island Expressway form strong horizontal lines, while housing estates fill the spaces between with neat, repeating shapes.
To the south and west, the pattern changes to the large, rectangular plots of industrial Jurong, with wide roads and fewer, bigger blocks. A Boon Lay map poster shows these two sides of western Singapore together, the everyday rhythm of public housing estates and the broader scale of industry just beyond it.
The East-West Line crosses the district on a raised viaduct, a continuous line on the map that links the estates to Jurong East and the city centre.
Public housing blocks are arranged in orderly clusters around loop roads and courtyards, creating a regular, repeating texture characteristic of planned Singaporean towns.
Large industrial plots to the south form broad rectangles with wide service roads, contrasting clearly with the finer grain of the residential neighbourhoods.

Koteā ko Boon Lay
For people who grew up in the west, Boon Lay is a familiar name, from the interchange to the estates around it. A map of the area is a personal choice for a flat, and it makes a thoughtful gift for someone moving overseas.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be changed, so you can mark a block number or a move-in date. Choose one of five styles and download HD files for $9, or order a printed poster, optionally framed in wood.
