Boshkengash lies in the broad valley around Dushanbe, where the capital's surroundings give way to farming settlements. On a map it has an open, rural-suburban pattern. Streets are lined with houses and walled gardens, lanes run between orchards and plots, and a few main roads connect it to the city and to neighbouring villages.
Irrigation defines much of the drawing. Narrow channels and field boundaries run in long, straight lines, and the built-up area follows them rather than forming a compact centre. To the south and beyond, the land rises toward the hills that ring the valley, and the road network thins out.
