Te mapa
Büyükada is the largest of the Princes' Islands, a ferry ride from central Istanbul across the Sea of Marmara. It is shaped around two hills joined by a lower saddle, with pine woods on the slopes and a coast of small coves. The town gathers on the northern side near the pier, where streets climb from the waterfront in a close, irregular pattern.
Private cars are not permitted on the island, and people move on foot, by bicycle or in small electric vehicles, so the roads are narrow lanes rather than highways. On the southern hill, Yücetepe, stands the Monastery of Saint George, reached by a steep path. Leon Trotsky lived on the island in exile from 1929 to 1933.
A Büyükada map poster reveals a street pattern shaped by slopes rather than traffic: winding lanes around wooden mansions, loop roads circling the two hills, and a harbour front facing the city across the water. Neighbouring Heybeliada appears just to the northwest. It is a natural choice for Istanbul families who summered here and for anyone who remembers the ferry approach.
The island rises to two wooded summits joined by a lower saddle, and the roads curl around both, giving the map a distinctive figure-of-eight rhythm.
The main settlement spreads uphill from the ferry pier on the northern shore, forming the island's densest tangle of lanes and its link to Istanbul.
Yücetepe, the southern hill, is crowned by the Monastery of Saint George, reached by a steep lane that ends high above the surrounding sea.

Koteā ko Büyükada
Büyükada holds decades of summer memories for many Istanbul families, as well as for travellers who took the ferry for a day of cycling and walking. Its compact, hilly outline makes a detailed yet calm poster that suits both small and large walls.
Change the title and subtitle to name a house, a summer or a family, and edit the coordinates line to a favourite spot. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
