Te mapa
Chamrajnagar, also written Chamarajanagar, is the headquarters of Karnataka's southernmost district, close to where the state meets Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The town takes its name from Chamaraja Wodeyar, father of a Mysore ruler, who was born here. On a map the centre is compact, with a few main roads meeting near the old temple quarter before spreading into residential lanes.
The Chamarajeshwara Temple remains the town's best-known landmark, and the streets around it have the tighter texture of an older settlement. Beyond, the pattern loosens into newer layouts and cultivated land. The wider district is known for its forests and hills, including the Biligiriranga Hills and parts of the landscape around Bandipur, which frame the town in the distance.
A Chamrajnagar map poster works at a human scale. It shows the kind of place where main road, market and temple sit within a short walk, and where the countryside is never far off. In black and white, the irregular blocks and the open land around the edges create a balanced, quietly detailed composition.
The area around the Chamarajeshwara Temple has the densest street pattern in town, with narrow lanes and closely packed blocks that contrast with the more open districts beyond.
Farmland and irrigation tanks, common across southern Karnataka, appear around the edges of town as open shapes among field boundaries and village roads.
The district lies near the meeting point of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and roads leaving town head toward hills, forests and neighbouring states.
