Te mapa
Cherukavu is a locality in northern Kerala, in the Malabar region between Kozhikode and Malappuram. On a map it does not form a single dense town. Instead, homes spread along winding roads and lanes, set among trees and small fields. The terrain rises and falls over low laterite hills, so the roads bend around slopes and the settlement pattern looks loose and organic.
Like much of this part of Kerala, the area has no sharp boundary between town and countryside. Houses, coconut groves, paddy fields and small water bodies are woven together across the whole map. Roads and junctions act as local centres, with shops and schools clustered where the main routes meet. The coast and the city of Kozhikode are a short distance to the west.
A Cherukavu map poster captures this distinctly Keralan pattern: a network of lanes and homes spread through greenery, rather than a single urban core. It gives a fine, intricate texture in black and white. It is most meaningful to families from the area, including the many Malayalis working in the Gulf or elsewhere who want a picture of their village.
Narrow roads and lanes curve over the low hills, linking scattered homes. They form the fine, branching pattern that defines the map.
Shops, schools and services gather at key road junctions, which serve as small local centres in place of a single town square.
Coconut groves, fields and trees fill the spaces between houses. They leave soft open areas throughout the settlement.

For Malayalis working far from home, this map offers a simple, dignified picture of the lanes they grew up on. The detailed, branching street pattern makes a print that feels personal without needing any photograph.
