Chhiri lies in Valsad district in southern Gujarat, beside the industrial city of Vapi. The map records a place in transition. An older village core of irregular lanes sits alongside newer housing blocks built as industry drew workers into the area, and the two patterns meet with little space between them.
Main roads and the rail corridor that run through this part of Gujarat pass nearby, linking the Vapi area with Surat to the north and Mumbai to the south. Industrial estates occupy large regular plots, while fields, ponds and small watercourses still appear between the built-up areas, a reminder of how recently much of this land was farmland.
