Te mapa
Chichén Itzá lies in the interior of the Yucatán Peninsula, on flat limestone land covered by dry forest. From above, the archaeological site appears as a series of large clearings connected by straight paths, surrounded by dense vegetation. The main highway passes nearby, and small nearby communities form compact grids beside it.
Chichén Itzá was one of the largest Maya cities, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its best-known structure is El Castillo, the stepped pyramid dedicated to Kukulcán, where shadows on the stairway at the equinoxes suggest a descending serpent. The Sacred Cenote, a natural sinkhole, is connected to the main plaza by an ancient raised causeway, or sacbe.
A Chichén Itzá map poster renders this remarkable place in quiet linework: plazas, causeways and cenotes set within the forest, alongside the roads of the present. It is a fitting piece for travellers and for anyone drawn to the history of the Maya world.
The central open area around El Castillo forms the largest clearing on the map, with major structures arranged around its edges.
A straight ancient causeway links the main plaza to the Sacred Cenote, a natural sinkhole that appears as a round shape to the north.
The surrounding terrain is flat and forested, with no rivers on the surface, so paths and roads cross it in long, straight lines.

Koteā ko Chichén-Itzá
For many visitors, Chichén Itzá is a highlight of a trip through Mexico. A map of the site brings back the scale of the plazas and the path to the cenote, without relying on a photograph.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a travel date or note, and the poster comes in five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
