Te mapa
Chigasaki sits on the Shonan coast of Kanagawa, facing Sagami Bay. On a map the whole town leans toward the water. Its southern edge is one long, gently curving beach, and its streets run north from the sand across flat land toward the hills and the rail line. The Sagami River marks its western side, with Hiratsuka across the water.
The town is known for its relaxed surf culture and for Eboshi-iwa, a small rocky outcrop just offshore whose shape is recognised all along this stretch of coast. Chigasaki is also the hometown of Keisuke Kuwata of Southern All Stars, and the band's songs have linked the town's name to summer by the sea.
A Chigasaki map poster sets the long shoreline against the fine grid of residential streets behind it. The coast road, the river mouth and the Tokaido line crossing the middle give the drawing a calm, horizontal structure that suits the town.
The beach runs almost the full width of the town as one smooth curve. It gives the poster a clean edge where the dense streets meet the open blank of Sagami Bay.
The broad lower Sagami River marks the western border before it widens into the sea. Its wide channel makes a strong vertical line on the drawing.
The main line crosses Chigasaki from east to west, parallel to the coast. It splits the town into a seaside half and an inland half, and both show clearly on the map.

Koteā ko Chigasaki
Chigasaki is a place people keep coming back to: surfers, families who spent their summers there, or residents who walk down to the beach every evening. A map of it recalls salt air and long afternoons without needing a photograph.
You can add your own title, a date and a short subtitle, and adjust the coordinates to a favourite break or a street corner. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand works especially well for a coastal town.
