Te mapa
Chuncheon, the capital of Gangwon Province, lies in a basin where the Soyang River joins the Bukhan River, and dams on both rivers have turned them into a series of long lakes. The city is often called the lake city, and the map shows why: water surrounds the centre on several sides, with islands and peninsulas breaking up the surface.
The urban core fills the flat basin floor with a fairly regular grid, and the mountains that ring the city rise steeply on every side. North of the centre, the Soyang Dam holds back Soyang Lake, one of the largest reservoirs in South Korea, whose many branching arms reach deep into the hills.
Across Korea, Chuncheon is known for dakgalbi, a spicy stir-fried chicken dish, and for Nami Island on the Bukhan River, famous as a filming location for the drama Winter Sonata. A Chuncheon map poster brings together the grid of the basin, the ribbons of water and the islands that make the city so distinctive.
The Soyang and Bukhan rivers meet beside the city, forming broad lakes that wrap around the urban area and dominate the composition.
Several islands sit in Uiam Lake near the centre, including Jungdo. Their smooth outlines float on the water beside the dense streets.
Forested ridges enclose the basin, so the built-up area stops abruptly at the slopes, giving the city a clearly defined shape.

Koteā ko Chuncheon
Chuncheon holds memories for many Koreans, from military service in Gangwon to student years and weekend trips to the lakes. A map is a calm way to remember that time. The title, subtitle and coordinates can be set to any wording you like, including a date.
Blueprint and Noir make the lakes especially striking, while Classic black & white, Paper and Sand are gentler. Buy the HD files for $9 in six sizes with no watermark, or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame, shipped by print partners in 30+ countries.
