Te mapa
Yangju lies in northern Gyeonggi Province, between Uijeongbu and Dongducheon, and its map is shaped by mountains. Ridges divide the city into separate valleys, and settlements have grown wherever the land opens up: older town centres along the main roads and rail line, and large new residential districts on the broader plains.
Roads and railway follow the valley floors northward from Seoul, while forested slopes fill the spaces between them. Newer districts such as Okjeong show the orderly blocks and wide avenues of planned Korean towns, in contrast with the irregular streets of the older villages nearby.
Yangju is home to the site of Hoeamsa, once one of the largest Buddhist temples of the Joseon period, and to Yangju Byeolsandae Nori, a traditional masked dance drama. A Yangju map poster frames this blend of mountain terrain, history and recent growth, with green ridges separating each cluster of streets from the next.
Forested ridges break the city into distinct valleys, leaving broad quiet areas on the map that set off the streets clustered below them.
The newer districts are laid out with regular blocks and wide avenues, forming neat, geometric patches among the more irregular older neighbourhoods.
A railway runs north from Seoul through the valleys, and its stations anchor the older centres along the route.

Koteā ko Yangju
Many young families have moved to Yangju in recent years, and a map records the start of that new chapter. It also speaks to people with deep roots in the area's older villages and valleys.
