Te mapa
Coishco is a coastal town in the Ancash region of Peru, just north of the port city of Chimbote. It sits on the dry Pacific coast, where desert meets the sea and the only green comes from irrigated valley land. On the map, the town is a compact block of streets close to the shoreline, with open, empty ground around it.
The layout is practical, with streets set out in mostly straight rows, typical of towns that grew quickly around coastal industry. Fishing and fish processing have long been central to this stretch of coast, and the shoreline is the defining edge of the map, a clean line that separates the grid of the town from the ocean.
A Coishco map poster works because of that contrast. There is the regular pattern of the streets, the smooth curve of the coast and the unmarked spaces of desert and sea. With so few competing lines, the town's shape reads clearly, a simple and honest portrait of a working community on the Peruvian shore.
The coast forms the western edge of the town, a long line that frames the poster and marks the meeting point of the desert and the Pacific Ocean.
The streets are laid out in mostly straight, parallel rows, giving the town a tidy, practical grid that stands out against the open land around it.
Coishco lies just north of Chimbote, and the roads connecting the two show how closely the town is tied to the larger port and its coastal economy.
