Te mapa
Cumanayagua is a town in Cienfuegos Province in central Cuba, lying inland from the coast where the land begins to rise toward the Guamuhaya mountains, also known as the Escambray. On a map the town forms a compact grid of streets, while the terrain around it shifts from gently rolling farmland to steeper, forested slopes.
The street pattern follows the Spanish colonial tradition found across Cuba, with a regular arrangement of blocks around a central plaza. Roads lead out of town toward Cienfuegos on the coast and into the mountains, where smaller settlements and farms are scattered across the hills.
The surrounding region is agricultural, with land devoted to crops such as sugar cane and, higher up, coffee. A Cumanayagua map poster captures the transition between the flat lands near the coast and the mountains of the Escambray, with a small, orderly town at the point where they meet.
The town is laid out as a compact grid of rectangular blocks around a central plaza, a clear, regular pattern that reads well in black and white.
The land rises toward the Guamuhaya mountains beyond the town, where roads begin to wind and the map becomes more irregular, contrasting with the orderly town centre.
Main roads leave the town in several directions, linking it to Cienfuegos and the coast on one side and to mountain villages on the other.
