Daman Map Poster & Print

Daman lies on India's west coast, where the Daman Ganga River meets the Arabian Sea. The river divides the town into two parts: Moti Daman to the south and Nani Daman to the north. A bridge links them across the estuary, and the shoreline runs straight along the western edge.

Daman was under Portuguese rule for about four centuries, until 1961. The legacy is clearest in Moti Daman. There the old walled town keeps its fort, with bastions and gates, and a regular street plan within the walls. Nani Daman has its own smaller fort near the river mouth.

A Daman map poster makes the most of its geography: the sea on one side, the river in the middle and two historic cores facing each other. The geometric outline of the Portuguese fortifications stands out among the surrounding streets. It is a small place with a very distinctive shape from above.

01

Daman Ganga estuary

The river widens as it reaches the sea and splits the town in two. It is the central feature of the map and divides the composition into northern and southern halves.

02

Moti Daman fort

The fortified old town forms a clear walled shape with angular bastions. Inside it, the streets follow a regular Portuguese-era layout.

03

Arabian Sea shoreline

A long, straight coastline borders the town to the west. It gives the poster a clean edge and a strong sense of place.
