Dingshi Map Poster & Print
Dingshi is in the far southeast of Chongqing municipality, in the Wuling Mountains near the borders with Hunan and Guizhou. This is steep, heavily folded country. Towns here can only grow where the valleys widen a little, so from above Dingshi appears as a narrow ribbon of streets threaded between hillsides.
The terrain decides almost everything on the map. Roads follow streams and switch back up slopes to reach outlying villages, and terraced fields and forest fill the space between. The built-up area is compact, and its edges are set by the mountains rather than by planning.
