Dome is a suburb in the north of Greater Accra, part of the continuous urban area that has spread outward from Ghana's capital. From above, it is a dense patchwork of residential streets, some laid out in regular blocks, others more irregular, with main roads carrying traffic toward central Accra and to the growing areas beyond.
The northern suburbs of Accra have grown quickly as the city expanded, and Dome's map reflects that growth. Older neighbourhoods near the main roads have compact, irregular lanes, while newer estates show more regular patterns. Toward the edges, streets become more spread out as settlement meets the rising ground to the north.
