Te mapa
Donghae City stretches along Korea's east coast in Gangwon Province, squeezed between the steep Taebaek range and the sea. The map shows a string of districts rather than a single centre, laid out along the coastal road and railway, with valleys running inland toward the mountains. The shoreline alternates between sandy beaches, rocky points and the straight edges of harbour works.
The city was formed in 1980 by joining the port town of Mukho with neighbouring Bukpyeong, and both still appear as separate clusters. Donghae Port handles cement, coal and ferry traffic, while Chuam Beach, with its candlestick-shaped rock, is one of the best-known places on the east coast to watch the sunrise.
A Donghae City map poster emphasises that linear shape: a narrow band of streets pressed against the coast, broken by river mouths and headlands. The mountains leave large empty areas inland, which makes the composition airy and lets the coastline become the main line of the design.
The old fishing port of Mukho sits in a small bay, its breakwaters and piers adding sharp, angular shapes to the coast and a dense knot of streets behind.
Long breakwaters and wharves of the modern port extend into the sea as straight lines, the most engineered stretch of the city's shore.
At the southern end, Chuam's small beach and rocky outcrops form an irregular, finely broken edge where the city meets the East Sea.

Koteā ko Donghae City
People who grew up on the east coast, or who have travelled there to watch the sunrise at Chuam, often want something more lasting than a photograph. The map traces the whole stretch of coast in a single view, which few pictures can manage.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a trip date or a family name, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
