Te mapa
Dongwenquan lies in the Ba'nan district of Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country south-east of the city centre. Its name means East Hot Spring, a reference to the natural hot springs that the area is known for. On the map, the town follows a narrow river valley, with streets stretching along the water and climbing the lower slopes.
The terrain dominates the composition. Ridges and hills surround the settlement, and roads twist through them in tight curves rather than straight lines. Built areas are concentrated on the few flat pieces of land, while the slopes around them are covered with forest and terraced fields, leaving large open areas on the poster.
A Dongwenquan map poster shows a town that has adapted to steep ground. The winding river, curved roads and compact built areas create a flowing, organic design, very different from the dense grids of central Chongqing.
The town follows a river through the valley, and the water's course defines both the shape of the settlement and the main direction of the streets.
The name refers to the local hot springs, which have made the area a destination for visitors from Chongqing, part of the town's identity.
Roads leave the valley in tight curves over the surrounding hills, giving the map strong flowing lines that contrast with the compact centre.

Koteā ko Dongwenquan
Dongwenquan is known to many Chongqing residents as a place for weekend visits to the hot springs, and to locals as home among the hills. A map of the valley and its streets captures both connections.
