Te mapa
Doropo lies in the Zanzan district in the northeast of Ivory Coast, close to the border with Burkina Faso and not far from Ghana. On a map the town is a loose cluster of streets set within wide savanna, with unpaved roads leading away toward villages and neighbouring towns. The surroundings are lightly settled, so the town stands out clearly on the page.
The centre is organised around a few main roads, with blocks of compounds arranged along side streets that become less regular toward the edges. Beyond them, tracks spread out across farmland and bush in long, thin lines. It is the kind of map where empty space matters as much as the streets themselves, giving the composition room to breathe.
The region around Doropo is part of the Lobi country, which extends across the borders into Burkina Faso and Ghana, and in recent years it has drawn attention for gold exploration. A Doropo map poster presents the town simply and precisely, a record of a place that seldom appears on printed maps at all.
A few principal roads cross the centre of Doropo and lead toward the border and the regional towns, forming the frame around which the town has grown.
Residential areas are made of compounds grouped along side streets, giving the map an uneven, handmade grain rather than a strict grid.
Around the town the landscape is open and lightly built, so the poster leaves wide margins of empty space that suit calm, minimal styles such as Paper and Sand.

Koteā ko Doropo
For people from Doropo and the wider Bounkani area, a map of home is rare and personal. It also suits anyone who has worked or travelled in northeastern Ivory Coast and wants to remember a specific place rather than a general region.
