Te mapa
Dublin is organised around the River Liffey, which flows east through the centre and opens into Dublin Bay. Its quays run in straight lines along both banks, crossed by a close sequence of bridges from Heuston to the docks. Two canals, the Royal to the north and the Grand to the south, form a rough loop around the inner city, and many Dubliners still use them to describe where they live.
South of the river, the Georgian district around Merrion Square and Fitzwilliam Square shows as orderly rectangles, while Trinity College and St Stephen's Green add open space to the centre. To the west, Phoenix Park, one of the largest enclosed city parks in Europe, forms a huge empty shape on the map. To the east, the docklands and the long harbour walls reach out into the bay.
Dublin is a UNESCO City of Literature, and James Joyce set the whole of Ulysses on its streets on a single day, 16 June 1904, now celebrated as Bloomsday. A Dublin map poster fits that idea well: a city you can trace street by street, from the canals to the coast, with every quay and square in place.
The river runs straight through the city between stone quays and more than a dozen bridges, forming the central axis of every Dublin print.
A vast walled park on the western edge of the centre, crossed by a few long avenues. On the poster it is a broad, calm expanse beside the dense city.
The Royal and Grand canals curve around the inner city in a loose ring. They show as thin lines that frame the Georgian core and the old centre.

Koteā ko Dublin
Dublin is a city of departures and returns, and maps of it hang in homes around the world. For people who lived here, studied at Trinity or married in the city, the river and canals bring it straight back.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a neighbourhood, a date or a Bloomsday reference, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
