Te mapa
Duyên Hải lies on the coast of the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam, in an area that was part of Trà Vinh province before the 2025 provincial merger that joined it to Vĩnh Long. The land here is almost perfectly flat, built up from river sediment over thousands of years. From above, the town is a small cluster of streets surrounded by water, fields and aquaculture ponds.
The landscape is ruled by water. Branches of the Mekong reach the sea to either side of the district, and channels and canals cross the land between them. Near the coast, mangroves and shrimp ponds form a mosaic of rectangles. The shoreline itself is long and gently curving. Large energy projects, including the Duyên Hải power complex and coastal wind farms, have changed parts of the coastline.
A Duyên Hải map poster shows the delta as it really is: a surface of lines where land and water are hard to separate. The town occupies a small part of the frame, while canals, ponds and coast fill the rest. It gives a sense of how people live in this delta landscape.
Canals and river channels cross the district in many directions, creating a close web of water lines that dominates the poster.
Near the coast, rectangular shrimp and fish ponds form grid-like patches. On the map they look like tiles laid across the flat land.
The coastline runs long and gently curved along the sea, with mangroves and coastal energy installations along the edge of the land.
