Te mapa
East Honolulu covers the south-eastern corner of Oahu, from Aina Haina and Niu Valley to Hawaii Kai. On a map the pattern is unmistakable. Steep ridges run down from the Koolau Range toward the ocean, and each valley between them holds a single tongue of streets, separated from its neighbours by bare, uninhabited slopes.
At the eastern end lies Hawaii Kai, a planned community developed in the 1960s around the old Kuapa fishpond. The pond is now a marina, and its branching channels give the map an unusual watery pattern. Beyond rise Koko Head and Koko Crater, and Hanauma Bay, a former volcanic crater open to the sea, cuts a near-perfect curve into the coast.
An East Honolulu map poster brings several distinct forms into one frame: the parallel valleys, the looping streets of the marina district, the crater rims and the shoreline. In black and white these shapes become graphic and almost abstract, a strong choice for anyone who knows this side of the island.
Residential streets fill each valley floor while the ridges between them stay green and empty. The result is a rhythm of alternating lines and blank space.
Channels branching through the former Kuapa fishpond create a pattern of peninsulas and waterfront lots, one of the most distinctive shapes on Oahu.
The volcanic craters at the eastern tip, including the curved bay of Hanauma, give the map a bold, rounded edge against the ocean.

Koteā ko East Honolulu
For people who grew up in Hawaii Kai or Aina Haina, or who remember hiking Koko Crater, this map holds a specific sense of place. It pairs well with photographs of the coastline but also stands on its own as a design.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a wedding date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download covers six sizes, and printed posters can be ordered with an optional wooden frame.
