Te mapa
El Palomar lies in the western suburbs of Greater Buenos Aires and is divided mainly between the partidos of Morón and Tres de Febrero. Most of the map is a regular grid of residential streets, with tree-lined blocks of houses. Occasional diagonal avenues and the San Martín railway line break the pattern.
The largest single feature is El Palomar air base, whose runway and grounds form a large open area on the edge of the grid. For a few years it also handled commercial low-cost flights. The Colegio Militar de la Nación is close by, with its own expansive grounds.
The neighbourhood takes its name from the historic dovecote, or palomar, near the site of the Battle of Caseros in 1852, a turning point in Argentine history. A El Palomar map poster shows the quiet residential grid meeting the long straight lines of the runway, an unusual combination in a suburban plan.

The San Martín commuter line cuts across the suburb, with its station as a local focal point. It is one of the few lines that runs against the grid.
Regular blocks of houses cover most of the neighbourhood. On the poster they form an even texture that frames the larger open spaces.

El Palomar is a neighbourhood people feel attached to, where families have often lived for generations. A map of its streets is a personal print for a home in Buenos Aires or for someone who has moved away.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with your street or the year you moved in. Choose from five styles. Digital HD files cost $9 and come as 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs, and printed posters are available too.
