French Rocks is the former name of Pandavapura, a town in Karnataka's Mandya district, north of Mysuru. The name dates to the late eighteenth century, when French troops allied with the rulers of Mysore were stationed here. It was used during the British cantonment period and is still recognised today.
On a map, the town is a compact core of streets and a railway station, surrounded by irrigated farmland. Canals fed by the Krishna Raja Sagara reservoir run through the fields and divide them into a fine pattern. Nearby, rocky granite hills rise sharply from the flat plain, including Kunti Betta, which is linked in local tradition to the Pandavas.
A French Rocks map poster brings together the town, the canals and the hills in a single frame. The ruled canal lines contrast with the rounded hills, and the town sits between them. It is an unusual subject with a story attached to its name.
Irrigation canals from the Krishna Raja Sagara system cross the farmland around town, marking the plain with long, fine lines.
Granite hills such as Kunti Betta rise abruptly from the flat land nearby, adding compact, rounded shapes to the edge of the map.
The town's streets gather near the railway line, forming a small, dense centre in the middle of open fields.

The poster appeals to people interested in old names and the history behind them, as well as families from Pandavapura and travellers who have climbed Kunti Betta. It also makes a thoughtful starting point for conversation in a study or reading room.
You can title it French Rocks, Pandavapura or both, add a subtitle and set the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room.
