Te mapa
Fujimino lies in southern Saitama, within the wide commuter belt that surrounds Tokyo. The city was formed in 2005 when Kamifukuoka and the town of Ōi merged, and its name refers to Mount Fuji, which can be seen to the southwest on clear days. On a map, the city appears as a dense, finely grained pattern of residential streets, broken by rail lines and patches of green.
The Tobu Tojo Line runs through Fujimino, and its stations act as small centres with shops and bus connections gathered around them. Away from the stations, streets become narrower and more irregular, with the curved lanes and short blocks typical of Japanese suburbs that grew over former farmland. Wider roads and expressway links cut through at intervals.
To the east, the land drops toward river lowlands, where fields and open ground replace housing and the map suddenly becomes quieter. That contrast between the tight residential mesh and the flat open land is what gives a Fujimino map poster its character: a precise record of everyday Japanese suburban life, drawn in thin lines.
The railway crosses the city diagonally, with stations forming small hubs where the street pattern thickens around shops, bus stops and station squares.
Short blocks and narrow lanes fill most of the city, creating a dense, lace-like texture that looks striking in black and white.
Toward the east, housing gives way to flat, open land near the rivers, leaving calm empty space along one side of the poster.

Koteā ko Fujimino
Fujimino is home to many people who commute into Tokyo, and a map of the neighbourhood where you live or grew up can mean more than a famous skyline. The detailed street pattern holds up well at larger sizes.
Add your own title and subtitle, perhaps the street or the year you moved in, and edit the coordinates line. The five styles, from Classic black and white to Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, let you set the mood of the print.
