Te mapa
Niiza is in southern Saitama, right next to the Tokyo boundary, and its map shows the typical fine mesh of a Tokyo suburb: narrow residential streets, small blocks and rail lines slicing through. What sets it apart is a large patch of green in the middle of the city, the forested grounds of Heirin-ji, a Zen temple whose woodland is protected as a natural monument.
The Kurome River winds through the city, its curved course marking a line that the streets bend around. Railway lines connect Niiza to central Tokyo and to other parts of Saitama, and most residents use them for daily commuting. The city grew quickly in the second half of the twentieth century as Tokyo spread outward.
A Niiza map poster shows how dense Japanese suburbs look from above, almost like woven fabric, broken by the temple forest and the thin river line. It is a detailed, quiet design that rewards a close look at the individual streets.

The small river winds through Niiza, giving the map a soft curved line among the tightly packed residential blocks.
Railway lines cross the city on their way into Tokyo, drawing long straight strokes through the mesh of narrow local streets.

Koteā ko Niiza
Niiza is where many people have lived close to Tokyo while keeping a slightly calmer home base. A map of its streets makes a meaningful picture for a first flat, a family home or a place left behind.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for instance with a family name or a move-in date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
