Te mapa
Fulu is a town in the Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the eastern Sichuan Basin. On a map it looks nothing like a planned city. Its streets follow the shape of the land, running along valley floors and curving around slopes, and buildings concentrate wherever the ground is flat enough to hold them. The surrounding area is rural, with farmland and scattered villages.
This part of Chongqing is defined by long ridges and low hills, many of them cut into terraced fields. The map does not show every terrace, but the pattern of winding rural roads, following ridges and valleys, carries the same sense of folded ground. Ponds and small reservoirs add occasional smooth shapes among the lines.
Fulu is a small place and little documented in English, so its character lies in its setting rather than in famous sights. A Fulu map poster presents the town as it actually sits on the land: a compact cluster of streets surrounded by working hills, drawn with the same care as any major city.
The main streets run along the flatter valley ground, where most buildings are concentrated. On the poster they form a narrow, dense band that follows the shape of the terrain.
Beyond the town, narrow roads wind between villages and hills. On the poster these thin, curving lines spread outward from the centre and trace the rolling ground.
Small bodies of water are common in the farmland of the Sichuan Basin. They appear as smooth shapes among the roads and add quiet contrast to the hilly layout.
