Te mapa
Gành Hào lies at the mouth of the Gành Hào River where it meets the sea along the southern coast of the Mekong Delta, in the Cà Mau area. From above, the map is dominated by water: the wide estuary, the shoreline, and a dense grid of canals and rectangular ponds covering the surrounding land.
The town is a fishing port, and its built-up area clusters along the riverbanks where boats can moor. Much of the flat land nearby is given over to shrimp farming, which leaves a distinctive geometric pattern of embankments and ponds. Mangroves and mudflats soften the edge between land and sea.
A Gành Hào map poster is as much about water as streets. The river mouth provides a strong diagonal, the coastline a firm edge, and the aquaculture ponds a quiet, repeated grid. In black and white, the town itself appears as a small concentrated cluster on the banks.
The Gành Hào River widens as it reaches the sea, and the town grew along its banks. The estuary is the most striking shape on the map.
Rectangular shrimp ponds and embankments cover much of the land around town. From above, they create an orderly geometric pattern unusual for a delta landscape.
The low coast, fringed with mudflats and mangroves, runs along the edge of the map. It gives a clean horizon line against the open sea.
