Te mapa
Gbawe is a suburb on the western side of Accra in the Greater Accra Region, part of the belt of neighbourhoods that has grown quickly along the roads leading toward Kasoa and the Central Region. It is mostly residential, and its map is a dense, irregular network of local roads and lanes, shaped by land plots and the gentle terrain rather than a single master plan.
Main roads carry traffic toward the city centre and the western highway, and they form the few long, continuous lines on the map. Between them, streets branch off in many directions, creating an intricate pattern of short blocks and junctions. Toward the edges, open plots and newer construction show an area that is still filling in.
A Gbawe map poster gives an everyday neighbourhood the attention usually reserved for city centres. The close-knit lanes and branching roads make a detailed composition, and the familiar outline of home becomes something worth framing. It suits families who have lived in the area for generations as well as those who have recently built there.
Local roads split and rejoin across the neighbourhood, producing a fine, irregular mesh of short blocks that gives the map its rich texture.
A few main roads cut through the suburb toward central Accra and the western highway, forming the longest continuous lines on the poster.
Gbawe sits within the band of suburbs stretching from Accra toward Kasoa, and the map shows how its streets merge with the neighbouring areas.
