Te mapa
Gbolouville is in the Lagunes District of Ivory Coast, inland from the lagoons that line the country's southern coast and west of Abidjan. On a map it appears as a compact settlement with a few main roads running out of it, surrounded by a wide agricultural landscape rather than dense urban sprawl.
The region is humid and green, with plantations, smallholdings and remaining patches of forest. From above, local roads and tracks form the main linework, linking the town to neighbouring villages and to the larger routes toward the coast. Streams and low valleys add gentle curves where the ground dips.
A Gbolouville map poster is a modest, honest portrait of a place that rarely appears on printed maps. It shows the town's layout and the pattern of roads around it, the everyday geography known to the people who live there, and it leaves out invented landmarks or claims the map cannot back up.
The built-up area is tight and walkable, and its streets gather around a central core before thinning out quickly into the countryside.
Several routes lead away from the town toward nearby villages and regional roads, and they give the composition a clear star-like structure.
Farmland and forest surround the settlement, and on a minimalist print they read as calm open space around the road network.
