Genting Snow Park sits in the Chongli district of Zhangjiakou, in Hebei province, northwest of Beijing. From above, the resort is set among rounded, forested hills rather than jagged alpine peaks. Its village fills a valley floor, and the runs rise from it onto the surrounding ridges, spreading out in several directions.
During the 2022 Winter Olympics the resort hosted freestyle skiing and snowboarding events, including halfpipe, slopestyle and cross courses. On the map these venues appear as purpose-built shapes on the hillsides, including the long, straight channel of the halfpipe and the winding lines of the cross courses.
A Genting Snow Park map poster records one of the venues that brought the Winter Games to northern China. The pattern of Olympic courses, resort roads and ridges forms a composition unlike any European or North American ski area.
