Te mapa
Golāghāt is the headquarters of Golaghat district in upper Assam, on the south side of the Brahmaputra valley. The Dhansiri River runs past the town, and its winding course is the strongest line on the map. Streets gather close to the river and the main roads, then thin out into villages, fields and the regular blocks of tea estates. It is a small, low-rise town surrounded by very flat, green land.
The district includes part of Kaziranga National Park, famous for the one-horned rhinoceros, and Golāghāt is often described as one of the gateways to it. Tea shapes the land too. Estates with their own roads, factories and worker lines appear as neat, self-contained grids set among the fields. Water shapes it as well: ponds, channels and old river loops are scattered across the plain.
A Golāghāt map poster turns this river country into a clear design. The Dhansiri curls through the frame, the town gathers along its banks, and the finer patterns of estates and paddy fill the surroundings. It shows the town as part of the wider Brahmaputra lowland, not as an isolated dot, and that is how people who live there know it.
The river loops past the town in wide, lazy bends. It is the defining curve of the map, and every other line seems to arrange itself around it.
Tea gardens appear as ordered blocks of internal roads and settlements, set apart from the looser pattern of villages and paddy around them.
Main roads link the town to the national highway corridor along the Brahmaputra and to the Kaziranga landscape famous for its rhinoceros.
