Te mapa
Gucun is a town in Baoshan District, in the northern part of Shanghai. Like much of the Yangtze delta, the land is completely flat, and the map is shaped by roads, waterways and planning. Wide arterial roads divide the area into large blocks, and within them sit residential complexes whose parallel rows of towers appear as neat repeated shapes.
Small rivers and drainage channels, a legacy of the delta's farmland, still run through the town. They cut across the modern grid at slight angles, softening its edges. The metro line reaches Gucun from central Shanghai, and its stations have become focal points for newer development along its route.
The best-known feature is Gucun Park, one of Shanghai's largest parks, which draws crowds each spring for its cherry blossom festival. On a Gucun map poster, the park appears as a large open area of paths and ponds set against the dense blocks around it, a quiet counterweight to the regular rhythm of the surrounding housing.
This large park, known for its spring cherry blossom festival, shows up as a broad open space with curving paths and water among the blocks.
Large housing estates fill the spaces between the main roads, their rows of towers creating repeated parallel shapes that give the map its texture.
Narrow rivers and channels left from the area's farmland past still cross the town, breaking the modern grid with gentle diagonal lines.

Koteā ko Gucun
For residents of this part of Baoshan, or anyone who has walked under the cherry trees in spring, Gucun is a very specific place within the huge city. A map of its streets and park gives that neighbourhood the attention it deserves.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a move-in date or a spring you remember. Pick one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
